Ladies, don't pack up those Princess Leia outfits from Comic-Con just yet. Females will be the focus of the first annual GeekGirlCon in Seattle.

On October 8th & 9th, this non-profit organization will celebrate women in the fields of math, the sciences, fiction, games, comics, and more!

"Planning this convention has shown me that I am not alone," says Michelle Pearson, GeekGirlCon’s Treasurer and Account Manager. "Meeting other geeky women and realizing that there are men in the community who appreciate and support us has been the best part of this journey so far. I’m excited to be a part of this and can’t wait to see our plans and ideas become reality."

Panel preparations are still in progress but several geektastic guests are planning to attend such as Bonnie Burton, Marian Call, Trina Robbins, Greg Rucka, Jen Van Meter, and Chase Masterson.

Some of the confirmed programming highlights include History of the Universe as Told by Wonder Woman, Avatar Secrets to Real Life and Love, Girls Make Games Too, Women in Horror, and Raising Geeky Kids. There will also be author readings and signings, web series screenings, adult-themed programming, kid-friendly programming, photo-ops, and more.

Two-day passes are $45, while Saturday or Sunday only costs $30.
