Country sensation Carrie Underwood will lend her voice to a great cause by performing at next month’s Nordstrom Symphony Fashion Show in Nashville, TN. Proceeds from the event, presented by Nordstrom and the Nashville Symphony, will help provide free concerts and music education to residents of the Music City.
February’s performance certainly won’t be the first time Underwood has done a good deed. The talented blonde beauty has a history of giving back, supporting such charities as The Humane Society, PETA, the United Service Organization, and many others.
“Everybody has the power to do something, to be a contributing force,” Underwood is quoted as saying on Look to the Stars, a website dedicated to chronicling celebrity giving, “and I would rather people look back on my life and say, ‘She made the world a better place.’ We can all do things like that, and I believe that when opportunities arise for you to do good, you should do good.”
Held Tuesday, February 28 at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the Nordstrom Symphony Fashion Show will feature an exclusive presentation of Oscar de la Renta's Pre-Fall 2012 collection in addition to Underwood’s performance. Guests will also be able to examine the collection’s pieces up close by visiting an exclusive boutique inside Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
The winner of the fourth season of American Idol, Carrie Underwood is a five-time Grammy Award winner, a three-time Country Music Association and ACM Female Vocalist winner, and a proud member of Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry. The Oklahoma native has sold over 14 million albums worldwide.
