CFDA Fashion Awards to be Broadcast for the First Time

While the Oscars and Emmys are a great place to spot elegant gowns and high-profile looks, fashion lovers have a new show to check out - The Council of Fashion Designers annual CFDA Awards. For the first time ever, fans will be able to view the show, in its entirety, online. The big event airs on June 5.

“We are thrilled to be able to share American fashion’s biggest night with the public for the first time and to be working with on this incredible project,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. “This is an amazing opportunity to expand our audience as we open this exclusive industry event to fashion lovers around the world."

Seth Meyers will host the event, held June 4, while Johnny Depp will be the first man to receive CFDA’s Fashion Icon award. Last year, the honor went to eccentric pop star Lady Gaga.

“There is no other event that puts the spotlight on American fashion like The CFDA Fashion Awards,” said Kolb. “We look forward to once again honoring the best and brightest talent working today.
