Male Mystique Makes Women Melt

The majority of today's men are more metrosexual than macho. While ladies do appreciate a guy who keeps his nails trimmed and his skin soft, that doesn't men fellas should be spending more on manicures and moisturizer than movie dates. The old school male mystique has seem to have gone by the wayside, but these tips can bring it back, and hopefully bring more romance into your life.

Macho, Macho Man

Women are turned on by strong men who will protect them and be in control. Dress like a man by wearing simple t-shirts and jeans that fit your body. Those sparkly Ed Hardy shirts are for Jon Gosselin and Jersey Shore. Own at least 2 custom fitted suits for special occasions and you'll really impress the ladies. And don't forget your gentlemanly gestures like opening doors and surprising her with flowers.

Speak Sparingly

An important ingredient of the male mystique is learning how to hold back. Talk in short sentences. Answer her question with a question or reply vaguely. Maintain heavy eye contact. It can be tricky to do all this without seeming like a creep or weirdo but it can be done and it works.

Initiate Intimacy

Another trick is to subtlely introduce intimacy. Again, holding back here is key or else you'll appear inappropriate. Playfully tap her arm, rub her shoulder, or anything innocent and sweet that causes physical contact. Whether she realizes it or not, she'll pick up your nonverbal cues and hopefully reciprocate.

Which proverb do you believe? Opposites attract or birds of a feather flock together? According to the 2009 book, 50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology, men and women are more likely to flock to someone with a similar personality than to someone totally different.

Opposites Don't Attract

Citing dozens of studies, the book’s authors report that men and women with similar personalities are more likely to be attracted to one another than to people with opposite personalities. They are also more likely to have happy, stable marriages. Not only that, but research suggests that opposites actually repel.

Dating simulation games are huge in Japan and enthusiastic men in the Land of the Rising Sun have even go so far as to marry their sim girlfriends! This game genre has yet to take off in America, but an upcoming game for XBox 360 (Japan) may stir some interest.

The wife-making utility in My Wife: A Bride Just For You lets players build the perfect spouse (if only they had that in real life). Gamers can customize a bride's looks, personality, name, birthdate, blood type, and more. For those who are too lazy to build a wife from scratch, there are a few pre-set models. Choices include the Childhood Friend Type, the Gentle and Natural Type, the Cinderella Princess Type, the Older Sister Type, and the Little Sister Type (that's kind of disturbing).

There are a variety of different activities players can enjoy with their wives, though we're not sure if sim sex is one of them. Players can, however, sip juice with their lovers, tend to her delicate undergarments, eat dinner together, etc.

My Wife: A Bride Just For You will be out in August in Japan for around $78 US. No word on if it will also be available in the US, but lonely gamers can only hope.

Thanks to a new site called Gamecrush.com, lonely gamers can now play with someone other than themselves.

For a fee, the new site will connect male gamers with hot women. Offically, the two will play games and chat but as “GameCrush does not monitor, moderate, or otherwise control the interaction between its users” there is sure to be all sorts of extracurricular activities.

Gamers can request to play with one of approximately 1,200 women, known as PlayDates, for a fee of $6.60 every ten minutes, not including tips (dare we ask how the ladies earn tips?). The dates include a private video chat session and the "casual game" of a gentleman's choice. Battleship, for example.

Gamecrush.com is currently in private beta, but interested parties can register for the mailing list if they want to know when the site is active. Women can also sign up to be a PlayDate and earn extra money.

Game on.

Today on Google Trends, we discovered an amusing little website called “It Was Over When.” The site allows visitors to chronicle the exact moment they realized their relationship was doomed as well as read tales of woe from other users. Here are a few of our favorite "it was over when" moments:

I was out of town for a close family member’s funeral and he wrote me: “Dear subscriber, I know you’ve been out of town, but your sex balance is past due. Your account will reach virginity status… Please f*ck to avoid disconnection. Thank you. ^-^” – Kyya

He started making plans for a joint vacation (after only four days of knowing each other) to New York’s Chinatown because he wanted “to learn more about my culture.” I’m Korean. - anem0ne

He scolded me for not answering his call, not taking a walk at 11:00 at night, not doing his laundry or cooking dinner for him, and not letting him come over and “wear me out.” I had only known his name for 1.5 days. – ellie

My parents just carpeted our downstairs and my boyfriend at the time asked me if we had any carpet left. So I said yes and gave it to him without thinking what he needed it for. The next day he showed up to school wearing the carpet in the form of armor. And wore it for the entire day. – Shauna

After a four-year relationship, he gave me a toilet seat for my birthday present. He said: “I knew you needed one and I couldn’t think of what else to get you.” And he didn’t even wrap it! - Wanda

We at TrophyWife.net always enjoy reading about others misery, but those who are more romantically inclined can check out “It Was Love When" to read beautiful tales of love and romance. Have fun!
