Little black dresses don’t leave a lot of room for things like keys, credit cards, and cell phones, and dragging a purse around a party or nightclub can be a pain. That’s why two University of Washington students invented the JoeyBra – a garment that allows women to stow items in a pocket attached to the side of their bra.
“From our own personal experience, we know that women hate taking purses to dances, bars, or dance clubs,” founders Mariah Gentry and Kyle Bartlow write on JoeyBra.com. “Leaving these items at home can pose a safety risk, but with JoeyBra women will never have to worry losing or damaging their valuables again.”

If you’ve ever gotten dressed and wondered, “Am I too old to wear this?”, the Daily Mail can now help you out – thanks to a survey from 2,000 women, ages 18 to 65. The old saying goes, “You’re only as old as you feel,” but according to this survey, you’re only as old as you look – and when you start looking “too old” to wear a certain article of clothing, you should stop wearing said clothing. So let’s cut to the chase! When are you supposed to stop wearing all the fun stuff?

Many women cannot stand to go shopping, all thanks to the ridiculous discrepancies in clothing sizes between different stores. In one store, you’re a 4. In another, a 10 – and you haven’t gained or lost one pound. Now, a handful of companies are tackling the problem of unreliable sizes. Some are pushing more informative labels, some are designing clothes to fit different body shapes, and one is even offering full body scans at shopping malls that will tell the shopper what sizes to try on among various brands.

There’s a new trend hitting America – revenge surgery. The term refers to surgery women get after divorcing their husbands, in a desperate attempt to “get back” the years they lost while in an unhappy marriage.
One woman, whose marriage ended after 25 years, and found herself thinking, “This isn’t how the fairy tale ends. I was crying every day, and I couldn’t get out of bed.” Diana Solomon, 51, had modeled over the years, doing both catalog work and fashion shows, and decided to get some work done in order to restore her looks to what they once were.

How much would you give up for the perfect body? Health? Money? Years of your life? One recent study suggests that a third of young women would trade at least a year of life for the perfect figure.
Researchers from the University of the West of England (UWE) and the U.K. eating disorder charity The Succeed Foundation recently polled over 300 British women at university campuses around the country to determine what they would be willing to give up for the perfect shape. The results?
Sixteen percent of the women surveyed would give up a year of their life for their ideal weight and shape, while 10% said they would be willing to trade two to five years of life. An astounding 10% said they would give up 10 years, while 1% said they’d forgo 21 years (!) of living!

If you’re a woman, chances are you belong to one of two camps – the “I always wear makeup” camp or the “I never wear makeup” camp. But were you aware that, according to style writer Bethan Cole, your level of makeup use may be an indicator or you self-confidence level as well? Put simply, she writers, women “increasingly dare to bare.” In other words, the less makeup you wear, she claims, the higher your self confidence is.

Generally speaking, I always thought that the term “Over the Hill” referred to anyone turning 40. Unfortunately, a new study has shown that for women, that term hits them as early as the age of 29.
A British company called Avalon Funeral Plans (ironic, huh?) polled 1,000 people on their website, and found that on average, women said they started “feeling old” when they were 29. Reports of things that made them feel old were outward markers, like gray hairs, sagging skin, and (ahem) “assets heading south.”

Plastic surgery has been on the rise in the last ten years or so, but now, in 2011, many types are on the decline. Surgeons are performing fewer nosejobs, less liposuction, and lip augmentation procedures aren’t as common, but one procedure has remained more popular than ever: breast enhancement. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the number of breast implant operations increased 39% over the last decade.
